A collection of thirteen limited edition prints faithfully reproduced from a set of watercolours in their original size of 45cm base by 60cm height. The set is printed in seven colours. Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist. This set was commissioned by Miranda Publishers in 1990. The settings are unequivocally Maltese and most are recognisable today while the protagonists belong to an earlier age; the Age of Elegance full of powdered wigs, patches, silks and brocades! A whimsical journey back to what the artist imagines would be 18th century Malta with costumes straight out of Favray and Zimelli and traditions that by and large are still very much alive today. The paintings have been faithfully reproduced in actual size and manage to convey the plethora of colour, richness of decoration and sumptuous detail of the originals. Kenneth Zammit Tabona was born in 1956. He has been involved in the cultural circles of Malta for many years and took up painting seriously in 1985 with the publication of Nicholas de Piro’s book “Lost Letters” which he illustrated. Peter and Alaine Apap Bologna of Melitensia Art Gallery invested in Mr Zammit Tabona’s work for several years and held two highly successful one-man exhibitions in 1992 and 1995. In 1995 he created the original costumes and scenery of Donizetti’s opera buffa Don Pasquale. Kenneth Zammit Tabona enjoys considerable success as one of Malta’s more sought after artists
